Was Santa Good to You?

Friday, December 26th, 2008

Santa stopped by my house for a just a few minutes and was kind enough to leave me a brand new digital camera! That was so nice of him!

I don’t know much about digital cameras but i do like to take photos, so I’ll read the instruction booklet that came with this new camera and learn how to use all these settings. Thanks, Santa!

Have Yourself a Very Merry Christmas

Thursday, December 25th, 2008

This time of year is when I hear all the wonderful Christmas songs, either on the radio or piped in over the store sound systems while you shop.

Some songs mean a lot more to me than others, often because I had to learn them to sing in a performance, either at church or in the school’s holiday musical programs.

One of my favorites is Silent Night. I love that song. It was the first one I ever learned, when I was in kindergarten. I also learned Away in a Manger that same year for my Sunday School class. I’ll always love those two songs at Christmas time.

Merry Christmas!

Packed Post Office

Wednesday, December 17th, 2008

This morning I carried all my packages to the post office to ship them to distant relatives. The parking lot was so full I barely found a spot to park the car. the line for postal clerk assistance was backed up to the door. I took one look at all those people and decided to come back later inthe day. Surely the corwd will thin out after lunch. I can’t abide standing in line for up to an hour for anything as mundane as postage.

Starting My Shopping

Friday, December 12th, 2008

This weekend is going to be my shopping time. I am just now getting into the Christmas spirit and want to buy as many gifts now as I can. There are several gifts that need to go in the mail, and I believe the deadline for mailing packages using the U.S. regular first class rates is either Monday or Tuesday. So I need to make sure I get those gifts purchased, wrapped, boxed and shipped right away.

Main Coon Cat

Thursday, December 4th, 2008

There was a short piece about cats on one of the educational channels and I happened to watch a little bit of it while cooking dinner. The Persian Cat is the most popular cat in the world, and the second most popular cat is the Maine Coon Cat. The Maine Coon is a large cat – they can weigh up to 25 pounds or more. They have big feet to help them in the snow, and long hair to keep them warm. They are loyal family members and great mouse hunters.

They look like marvelous cats. If I was to get a cat I suspect that I would like a Main Coon cat. I was never aware of them until I watched this show. So now I will be on the lookout for this type of cat next timeI happen to stop by the pet store.
