Brunch!

Sunday, May 9th, 2010

The family took me out to brunch today to celebrate Mother’ s Day. We went to the O’Charley’s restaurant near my house. O’Charley’s has an excellent brunch every Saturday and Sunday until 3:00 pm.

I ordered an omelette from their brunch menu. It was delicious! Thank you to my wonderful family for making today a very special day!

Pizza Night

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

Nothing in the refrigerator looks tempting. I think we’ll splurge tonight and order pizza for dinner. I just have to decide which pizza place to call.I’m leaning toward Dominoes.

Then I have to decide on the toppings – something more exciting than just pepperoni.I wonder fi the kids will freak out if I order sausage and mushrooms, just to be different?

It will be a nice treat to not have to cook and to enjoy a hot slice of pizza delivered right to my door.

Breakfast for Dad

Sunday, June 21st, 2009

With today being Father’s Day, we all got up early and went out for breakfast. Hubby got to pick where he wanted to go. Can you guess where we went?

Golden Corral!

They have a nice assortment of food and it usually tastes pretty good. The kids love the dessert section, with all kinds of cakes and puddings and soft self serve ice cream with 6 different toppings.

White Russians

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

One of my favorite drinks to order when I’m out for a fun social evening is a white russian. It is a sipping drink, so I take my time and enjoy every sip without getting drunk. It’s easy to make, just pour equal parts vodka, kahlua and very cold fresh cream into a glass over ice. The cream is what makes the drink “white.”

It’s also easy to drink equal parts vodka and kahlua without the cream. If you make it without cream it’s called a black russian.

Graduation Parties

Thursday, May 22nd, 2008

This whole month is parties every weekend as the different schools and colleges finish up the year and have their graduations. Every weekend all the limos in town are booked solid to transport the new grads and their escorts to celebratory dinners and parties.

One of the most popular restaurants in town for these types of parties and celebrations is Morton’s Steakhouse, downtown. This is a beautiful restaurant property, with dark paneled walls and soft lights. It is very posh, old school, and the food is magnificent.
